Self Promotion

April 30, 2012

I have found that, designer Peter Rigge looks very interesting. The use of positive and negative space looks very good.  The use of capital “R”, to represent his own making it very unique and easy to remember. The use of black and white make it very easy to look at the words.

This is a painting from Lui Liu a chinese painter, he lived in canada in the past 20 years. This piece shows 5 naked girls but there is a simultaneously personal reflection of the modern world. Each of the girls represent different countries that are effecting the modern world; China, USA, Japan, Russia and Taiwan. Their gesture and position indicate different relationship among the countries. Could you tell what message the painter is trying to tell

Identity system

April 30, 2012

I have choose Mac Donald for my identity system. This logo is  very successful, the use of colors are bright and sharp which could get customers attention easily from far away. Also the “m” shape design given the customers a feel of happy and childish, this also attracted a lot of young age customers. The logo are also very success with the use of positive and negative space.

Thus is a logo from WWf that I found interesting in the way of using the positive space, as you could see the logo is a panda. The logo is success not just because of the right color but also the words “WWF” is tightly combine to the logo giving people a strong link of panda and “WWF”

If you haven’t already seen me wearing the Animal logo well here it is. One of the most popular BMX brands to date. Animal BMX has always had the cleanest logo in the industry. To someone who does not know the BMX industry may not recognize this logo, anyone who rides knows this is the most recognizable logo out there. Since 2000 the griffin in the logo has been the trademark of the brand. They do have other designs that not including the griffin, but all stay true to what the brand stands for. Since they are a street riding company, they try to keep it geared towards the kids that like quality products as well as something that looks good. I believe Animal will never lose their brand identity and stay true to the company that has been growing for the past 12 years.

This is the label for one of my favorite brews (when I can afford it) Flying Dog Brewery’s Snake Dog IPA. The artwork was created by my favorite and very talented artist Ralph Steadman. His portrayal of the brand name is amazing. Steadman produced the artwork for the whole Flying Dog Brewery’s line of brews. With the outrageous names comes outrageous and somewhat perplexing artwork. Check out Flying Dog in a local beer store near you. Remember 21 means 21 😉
