Tandanori Yokoo, though you may never heard of him, was considered the graphic equivalent to the Beatles. His style included everything under the sun, plus some. Ironically, Yokoo’s fame came from his incorporation of the Japanese sun into the majority of his pieces. One of his most notable works is the poster, “I Was Dead”(shown below). The text on the bottom reads “Having reached my climax at 29, I was dead.” Because of the nature of this work, many people in fact thought he was dead when he was not.
