Graphics for Change

February 8, 2012

This poster was done by Tahamtan Aminian in 2002 and ran in Iraq. The writing in English says Agony, Sorrow, Pain, Hatred, Hesitation, Envy, Hopeless, Fear, Dirt, Prostitution, Wound, Wretchedness, Madness, Isolation, Wrath, Grudge, and Fatal. These words go from top to bottom, starting with the reason one smokes to the end result of being a smoker. I thought the words in this poster were extremely powerful and the simplicity of the design spoke volumes. Just one cigarette can represent the extreme devastation it can bring. The use of space is great. You can find this poster here.
